At our workshop, we believe that the best products come from personal passion and continuous refinement. From the outset, we used Moleskine notebooks to capture our ideas, designs, and day-to-day notes. However, we found ourselves needing separate notebooks for different subjects, which often led to the frustration of not having the right journal on hand. This challenge inspired us to explore Midori-style journals for their versatility—providing a single, expandable solution to accommodate multiple subjects with ease.
The result of our journey is the Penny Journal—a beautiful, full-grain oil-tanned leather notebook that embodies both practicality and elegance. Traditional Midori-style journals typically feature a single elastic cord, which limits expansion and the number of journals and accessories they can hold. We've improved on this design by including a signature copper penny clasp to secure three individual shock cords, allowing you to expand the journal to hold up to six separate notebooks. Alternatively, you can comfortably use four notebooks with additional Midori-style accessories like dividers, kraft organizers, or pouches.
A unique feature of our Penny Journal is the copper penny bookmark weight, which makes marking your pages easy and adds a charming touch of character. You also have the option to customize your journal with any artwork, quotes, or initials, which will be laser engraved at an additional cost, making each Penny Journal truly one-of-a-kind.
Each Penny Journal includes three lined books, perfect for getting started right away. If you prefer different inserts, we offer customization options to fit your needs—simply let us know, and we can make arrangements prior to shipping. The Penny Journal accepts all 8.25” x 4.25” inserts and fillers, giving you the flexibility to personalize your journaling experience.
